The Gerling-Reich Award
Through the generosity of Dr. Shya Chitaley, the North Coast Fossil Club is proud to sponsor its annual Devonian Plant Fossil Competition. All members are encouraged to participate by bringing their best Devonian plant fossils to the February, 2012 meeting. Members displaying Devonian plant fossil collections will be asked to designate a single Devonian plant fossil for the competition. By a vote of the members present, a first and second place winner will be determined and will be presented the Gerling-Reich Award which is a monetary prize. Only one monetary prize per member will be awarded. All Devonian plant fossils entered in this competition must have been collected since February, 2011 by the member submitting them. No purchased fossils are eligible for this competition.
